Lemon Rice
Ingredients
Basmati rice-1cup
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
Urad dal-1/2tsp
Red chilly-2
Peanuts or cashews (optional)
Lemon juice -5 to 7tsp
Curry leaves -few
Asafoetida-a pinch
Oil
Method
1.Rinse the rice and drain it...cook it in 2cups of water and add a little salt to it.
2.Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and urad dal.
3.Allow it to splutter and then add turmeric powder.
4.Now add red chilly and asafoetida.saute it for few secs.
5.Switch off the stove..Add lemon juice
6.Now gently mix rice without smashing it...
7.Garnish with curry leaves or coriander leaves...
